Dal Makhani Recipe

Ingredients:

• 1 Cup Whole Urad Dal

• 1 Tbsp Red Kidney Beans

• 1 Onion

• 1 Tomato

• 1" Ginger Piece

• 4 Green Chilies

• Coriander Leaves

• 2 Flakes Garlic Paste

• ½ Cup Stirred Curd

• ½ Cup Fresh Stirred Cream

• 2 Tbsp Butter

• ½ Tsp Mustard Seeds

• 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds

• ½ Tsp Turmeric Powder

• ½ Tsp Garam Masala

• Red Chili Powder

• ½ Tsp Coriander Powder

• Salt to Taste

Method:

• Soak kidney beans in water overnight.

• Add water and little salt and pressure-cook kidney beans and urad dal for 25 minutes.

• Mash and boil again for 20 minutes and add curd and cream to the dal.

• In a separate pan, heat oil, splutter mustard seeds

• Add cumin seeds and garlic paste and fry till they turn light brown.

• Add onions and fry till they turn pinkish brown.

• Add ginger, green chilies and tomatoes and fry till tomatoes are soft.

• Add dry masalas (turmeric powder, chili powder, dhania powder and salt) and fry.

• Add dal and stir on medium flame.

• Sprinkle garam masala powder.

• Garnish with coriander and add butter.
