Subash may join Indian football team's Barcelona camp
New Delhi, July 4 : East Bengal's young forward Subash Singh has been put on the standbye for injured Sunil Chettri for the national football team's camp in Barcelona.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has asked the All Manipur Football Associastion (AMFA) for Subash's passport. 'Nothing is sure as of now. Coach Bob Houghton has just asked for his passport,' AIFF general secretary Alberto Colaco said Saturday.
Manipur's Subash, who had a good season with Mumbai club Air India in the last I-League season, has been given a lucrative contract by East Bengal.
Houghton too believes Subash is a good prospect.
In Dubai, Chettri has been recovering well after an ankle injury and has been asked to do light exercises. He is confident of recovering before the team leaves for a month-long camp in Barcelona, where it will also play some competitive matches against local teams.
The team will fly to Barcelona next week.
