Actor finalized to play Krishnan Iyer MA in Agneepath remake?

While the hunt by Karan Johar for playing the lead man in his Agneepath remake continues as Hrithik Roshan has reportedly declined to reprise Amitabh Bachchan's role, the actor to play the second most important character in the film of that of Krishnan Iyer MA which was played by Mithun Chakraborty. In fact Mithun had even won the Filmfare Award in the Best Supporting Actor category for the 1990 released.

Our source reveals, “Riteish Deshmukh is more or less finalized to play the part made famous by Mithun Chakraborty in the Agneepath remake which Karan Johar intends to produce under his banner. After Hrithik has not shown much keen interest in playing the gangster Vijay Dinanath Chavan in the film, chances are Abhishek Bachchan will step in to play the role which was originally played by his father Amitabh Bachchan. Both Riteish and Abhishek share great chemistry which was evident in Bluffmaster and one just hopes the same magic is recreated.”

The source further adds, “The actresses to play Madhavi and Neelam’s parts are yet to be finalized. Similarly for playing the villain Kancha Cheena originally played by Danny, names of Vivek Oberoi and Irrfan Khan are being considered.”
