Saif- Deepika promotes Love Aaj Kal at L'il Champs

Mumbai/Kolkata, June 30 : The little participants of Zee TV's Hero Honda SaReGaMaPa couldn't have asked for more with Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone grooving on the sets of L'il Champs 2009 to promote their forthcoming film, Love Aaj Kal.

The episode will be telecast on Friday (July 4). Saif and Deepika along with the film's director Imitiaz Ali and music Director Pritam unveiled the music of film in the episode. The starry presence made the show lively and brought tremendous enthusiasm in the kids which showed in their outstanding performances.

Highlights of the show

'Mujhe Deepika ke Saath hi Baithana Hain' - Since the theme of the show is Boys v/s Girls, the programming team wanted Saif to sit with Abhijeet and Deepika with Alka. But Saif refused to sit with Abhijeet as he wanted to sit with Deepika as according to him, they would have made a better frame together. The programming team had a tough time convincing Saif to sit with Abhijeet to which he later gave in. (See pics)

'Main Nahi Nachunga' - Throwing starry tantrums Saif initially refused to dance or perform on the show but when he saw that Deepika was being a sport and was actually hogging the limelight he immediately jumped on every opportunity and proved to be a total entertainer. He not only danced with the kids but also played guitar on one of the soft numbers from Love Aaj Kal.

'This ones Kareena's favorite' - When our very talented participant Shreyasi sang the title song of Hum Tum, Saif Ali Khan got emotional and revealed that that's one of Kareena's favorite songs that Saif has acted in and she loves it. He later requested Alkaji to sing the song for him and Alka readily gave in to his request.

'Saif's second love – his guitar' - Saif who was getting late and was asking the team to wind up the shoot at the earliest, couldn't stop himself when he was requested to perform with Pritam. Saif played guitar to his latest song 'Yeh Duriyaan'. His passion for the instrument was clearly seen as he requested continuous re-takes of the performance as he wanted to give a perfect shot. Even after the shot was called off and Pritam left the stage, Saif was still enjoying the instrument with other musicians and thanked all of them before he left the stage.

Saif dance to Ole Ole - Saif couldn't help but get embarrassed when his very first hit number 'Ole Ole' was played. He and Abhijeet performed on the song and Saif announced that the song was the first hit of not only his but even Abhijeet Da's career. He also shook a leg on his signature step from the song.

Deepika - Didi & Saif Uncle??? - The anchors kept referring to Deepika as Deepika Didi and Saif as Saif uncle to which Saif took serious offence but subtly requested them to call him Saif Bhaiya instead. To add on fuel to this Deepika kept saying that she enjoyed songs like Ole Ole and other hit nubers by the judges and Saif when she was in school, reiterating the fact that she is much younger to everyone…

SaReGaMaPa proves lucky for Imtiaz - According to Imitaz Ali, the SaReGaMaPa platform is very lucky for him as the music album for Jab We Met was launched on the same platform which later went on to become a Superhit. He said, he is positive that Love Aaj Kal would also do successfully as his instincts tell him.

Kolkata girls, Shreyasi and Shalini, are rocking the stage of L'il Champs with their outstanding performances week on week. When Shreyasi sang “xxxxxx”, Imitaz Ali couldn't stop praising them and also went to the extent of calling Shalini a true Rock star. Also, the director was amazed with the latent these little kids have? If kids today can sing on Ashaji's song and maintain the same tempo, its commendable and truly outstanding.

Saif night time stories – Kolkata's Antara who runs her own band called STAR connected immediately with Saif who too is part of the Delhi band, Parikrama. She also shared a secret of Saif who later was embarrassed to hear it. During his childhood days Sharmila Tagore use to sing 'Chanda hain tu' for Saif every night to put him to sleep…. Saif blushed so much on hearing this and denied it our right at first go but later accepted it… Good going Antara…
