Malaysia Airlines opts for IBS crew management solution
Thiruvananthapuram, June 30 : IBS Software Services, a city-based IT solutions provider to travel, transportation and logistics industry, has signed an agreement with Malysia Airlines for providing a crew management solution, the company said Tuesday.
As per the contract, signed in Kuala Lumpur Tuesday, the IBS software, "Avient Crew", will replace the airline's two existing crew management systems - one for managing technical crew roster and the other for cabin crew roster.
"The operational agility and productivity of the airline's crew will, I am sure, be further enhanced with the implementation of Avient Crew," said V.K. Mathews, chairman and chief executive of the IBS group.
Malaysia Airlines' director of operations Dato Tajuden Abu Bakar hailed the agreement, saying it "will not only help build efficiency, but also reduce disruption costs".
The solution will be implemented in four phases over the next two years, IBS said.
At present, Avient Crew is being used by six major airlines including Emirates, Jet Airways and Cathay Pacific, it added.
In April, IBS had tied up with MASholidays, the travel and leisure arm of Malaysia Airlines, for providing its iFly Tour solutions.
