Shilpa Shetty ties the knot with Raj Kundra

Mumbai, Nov 22 : Bollywood siren Shilpa Shetty finally got married to her long time beau Raj Kundra, a London-based businessman, in a glittering ceremony at Khandala, near Mumbai, Sunday evening.

The wedding took place in a traditional way at Bawa Villa (Shilpa' s business partner Kiran Bawa' s farmhouse) in the Maharashtrian hill station. Both Punjabi (for Raj) and South Indian (for Shilpa) marriage rituals were included in the ceremony.

While Raj chose to wear a Shantanu and Nikhil maroon sherwani with golden embroidery, Shilpa chose to wear a Tarun Tahiliani creation.

Moments before the wedding ceremony, Shilpa blogged: ' I don' t know how to put my feelings in words…this is a day that my family and I have waited for.

' To all those who want to know how I am feeling, I just want to say – I' m going through a lot of mixed feelings – happiness, excitement, nervousness, just like any bride to be and sadness as well.'

She continued: ' Honestly it still hasn' t sunk in completely, it' s a strange emotion, can' t describe it… The only consolation is that I' m tying the knot with ' Raj' – a man who lets me be myself and doesn' t want me or my life to change, that erases premarital jitters.'

' Obviously marriage is a huge step and with it comes responsibilities, and since I believe in the institution, so I hope and pray that I can make ' ours' a success,' read her blog.

Almost after a two-year courtship, Shilpa got engaged to Raj on Oct 24 at his Juhu apartment in Mumbai.
