6 injured in train-truck collision at railway crossing in UP

Jaunpur, Nov 13 : Six people including a railway employee, were seriously injured, when a loaded truck overturned on a SUV after colliding with a train at Hariharpur crossing under Singramau police station in the district today.

Police said the truck loaded with wheat collided with the Varanasi bound Delhi-Varanasi super fast express train after breaking the crossing gate and then fell on the SUV.

Railway officials said no passenger of the train was injured in the accident.

Three people each of the truck and SUV, along with the gateman of the railway crossing were injured in the accident due to which train services in the section was disrupted for an hour .

The injured have been admitted to a hospital here in critical condition.

Early this month, over 16 people were killed in a similar accident when people hanging on the gates of a passenger train fell after a truck collided at an unmanned railway crossing in Gonda district.
