Illegal slaughter houses funding anti-national activities: Maneka

Bareilly, Nov 8 : Former union minister and BJP MP Maneka Gandhi today demanded closure of all illegal slaughter houses in the region as it was funding anti-national activities through its earning.

Ms Gandhi, asking the state civil and police officials to stop these illegal slaughter houses in the state, said ''these houses were smuggling meat of the banned animals to far-flung areas.'' ''Several influential people are involved in this racket and recently several trucks loaded with such animals on their way to the slaughter houses were seen in the area'', she said.

''We have specific information that these illegal slaughter houses are funding the anti-national organisations'', she alleged.

Talking to UNI Ms Gandhi said, ''the state government was giving patronage to the people involved in the illegal business, while fake cases are being lodged against the people who opposes their racket.''
