Bad days get worse for Padmasinh Patil
Mumbai, Nov 7 : With MLC Rana Jagjitsinh Patil not getting a berth in the new Maharashtra Cabinet, the bad days befallen his father and suspended NCP leader Padamsinh Patil seem to be never ending.
Rana Jagjitsinh, who was Minister of State for Revenue & Rehabilitation in the last cabinet, was excluded from the list of ministers of NCP depsite his father being a relative and close confidante of the party chief Sharad Pawar. And by not allotting a berth to him, the NCP had played it safe, while it was the biggest setback for the father-son duo.
The trouble for Osmanabad MP Padamsinh Patil started on June seven, when he was arrested in connection with Congress leader Pawanraje Nimbalkar murder case. Mr Pawar had to face severe criticism from the Opposition over the issue. Though Padamsinh was later released on bail, he had to spend 2-3 months in prison.
That was not all, further trouble lay ahead as Rana Jagjitsinh lost the Assembly elections at the hands of Omraje Nimbalkar, son of slain Pawanraje Nimbalkar, in Osmanabad.
With the Supreme Court rejecting his interim bail plea in Anna Hazare killing threat case, the Patil Senior, who was with Mr Pawar since 1978, will be behind bars again.
