Supporters protest against Karnataka Minister's alleged resignation

Bangalore, Nov 7 : Supporters of the lone woman Minister in the BJP government in Karnataka today organised a protest against alleged resignation of Minister for Rural Development Shobha Karandlaje bowing to pressure from the rebels.

A group of people assembled in front of her house on the Race Course road here and shouted slogans against the detractors of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa who are demanding the sacking of the Minister and CM's Principal Secretary V P Baligar.

They demanded that the minister should not quit the post as she had committed no mistake.

After hectic parleys in Delhi to defuse the rebel crisis in the state unit, BJP leaders asked the chief minister to relent and drop the two persons.

Mr Yeddyurappa removed Mr Baligar, an IAS officer, by transfering him to Industries department. However Ms Karandlaje was yet to tender her resignation.

However with news spreading from Delhi that the 'ultimate' resolution had been arrived at and the minister and the official had resigned forced her supporters to stage agitation.
