AIADMK to remind minister on his promises during LS elections
Puducherry, Nov 7 : Alleging that Union Minister of State for Planning, Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, V Narayansamy had forgotten the promises made to the people here during the Lok Sabha elections, AIADMK State Secretary A Anbazhagan, MLA, today said he would remind him of the promises through a letter on November 9.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Anbazhagan said Mr Narayansamy had given tall promises, including provision of free colour television sets, making the Government Medial College operational, free rice, employment opportunities to the youths and unemployment doles to the educated unemployed youths. But the Minister might have forgotten everything, he added.
Vehemently criticising the Government, the AIADMK leader said the Puducherry Municipality had denied when he sought a space at the Kamban Kalai Arangam to setup his constituency office. But now it was granted to Mr Narayansamy to setup his office. This clearly shows the partisan attitude of the Government, since Mr Narayansamy belonged to the ruling party, he alleged.
Mr Anbazhagan further alleged that the administration, which failed to initiate measures to prevent the production of pirated VCDs and DVDs of new films, was active in tracking them down, when the pirated CDs of the films produced by the family members of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Karunanidhi came out.
The AIADMK leader also urged the administration to take immediate steps to provide 25 kg of free rice and five litres of kerosene to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) families here, who were severly hit due to torrential rains.
