'Tired' Moles wants a break

Wellington, Nov 7 : Relieved after walking away from the post of New Zealand coach, Andy Moles wants to take a break in order to rekindle his love for cricket after a torrid year in charge of the Black Caps.

''I'm glad it's all over.

''It was a very stressful 10 days. My phone didn't stop ringing for three or four days after, but once I came to terms with where I was going in my own mind it was a weight off my shoulders,'' Moles told the 'Waikato Times'.

Moles admitted that he had started to lose interest in the game during a tumultous period in charge of New Zealand with several top players reportedly unhappy with his performance.

''I fallen out of love with the game a little bit,'' he admitted.

''I've been contacted by guys in England there may be things coming up there in the future.

''But firstly I'm taking three to six months off from the game,'' he added.

New Zealand had exceeded expectations by reaching the finals of the Champions Trophy, but that came after a poor tour of Sri Lanka.

However, Moles is confident that he would have shown results if given more time.

''I think I brought quality to one or two players, helped them and made players better off in the short term that I've been involved - the statistics show that,'' he said.

''I told them (when I started) it would be three years. The biggest thing, the magic ingredient, is patience.''
