SMOT School of Biz wins competition

Chennai, Nov 4 : Students of SMOT School of Business, a city-based premier management school emerged, as overall champions in the 'i sage management competition' organised by SRM University.

For the second consecutive year, SMOT School of Business bagged the honour emerging as the only business school in the State to win this prestigious title continuously for two years, a release from SMOT here said.

''When students win such competitions, it reinforces their belief in themselves.

''It gives them the confidence that they can achieve anything. And that’s what management studies is all about. We are very proud of our students,'' said Prof Muthu Singaram, Chief Education Officer, SMOT School of Business.

'i sage' is the management competition organized by SAMS (Students Association of Marketing Studies) of SRM University.

This year, the competition saw the best brains from nearly 20 management colleges of Tamil Nadu fighting for the title, of which SMOT School of Business emerged as the winner.

The event had five different contests namely Business Quiz (Brave Escape), Indirect Sales (Osxcon), Outdoor Event (Regalix), Direct Sales (Rapier) and Best Manager (The Alchemist).

Twenty-three students from SMOT School of Business divided into multiple groups participated in these contests and won two first places (Indirect selling & Outdoor events), two first runner-up positions (Direct Selling & Best Manager) and one second runner-up position (Business Quiz).

Talking about their success, one of the winners, Mr Bharat Iyer said ''participating in such events gives us a wonderful opportunity for networking.

''This also becomes a good platform for us to demonstrate our knowledge and skills and put them into practical use.''
