All India Open Shooting Championship from Nov 9 at Jalandhar
Jalandhar, Nov 4 : All India Open Shooting Championship will commence from November 9 at the Punjab Armed Police (PAP) shooting range here, ADGP, PAP, HR Chaddha, said here today.
In all 1200 shooters across the country are expected to take part in this eleven day event which would conclude on November 19, he said.
Referring to the prize money of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Wrestling Championship, he said the amount of the prize money would be enhanced three to four times of the present amount of Rs. 30 lakh from the next tournament to be held next year.
He said the tournament would be held permanently in the indoor stadium of the PAP complex.
Coach of the Pakistani Wrestling Team, Mohammad Anvar Hussain, who was also present at the media conference spoke highly of the PAP authorities for organising a wrestling tournament of International level in which wrestlers of nine countries including India participated.
He said that such events would not only help normalise relations between both the countries but would also prove to be an effective measure of confidence building.
