Dreaded criminal Lahu Kale held
Pune, Oct 4 : Dreaded criminal Lahu Kale, allegedly involved in ten murders, four dacoities and a rape case, was arrested by Pune rural police in Ahmednagar district.
The police were on trail of Kale and arrested him last night after three teams of officals, led by inspector Bhausaheb Andhalkar laid a trap.
Police said Kale had committed a dacoity at Mangrul hamlet in Narayangaon taluka of the district on October 15 at the residence of Ramdas Namdeo Kharade, in which three family members were killed.
Following the killings, the Pune rural superintendent of police issued directives to the local crime branch chief to crackdown on Kale's operations.
Kale was also purportedly involved in the sensational cold-blooded murder of police constable Ankush Dhawade, posted at Srigonda police station in Ahmednanagar district, besides a life-threatening attack on sub-inspector posted at the same station.
According to police, Lahu along with his brother had terrorised people in the rural parts of the district.
According to Mr Andhalkar, Kale's arrest is a big catch for the police as he was a deadly criminal. ''Kale is a blood thirsty criminal and we spared no efforts in catching him. With this arrest, the dacoity scene in rural Ahmednagar and Pune will see a drastic reduction'', Mr Andhalkar said.
