People voting for development: Congress
Jaunpur, Nov 4 : The Congress today said the people were voting for development and the party's win in Maharashtra, Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh has proved their interest.
''The people are fed up with the politics in the name of religion and caste...they are looking for developmental change,'' senior Congress leader and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Ram Naresh Yadav said addressing an election meet in favour of party candidate for Rari Assembly seat, Abhishek Singh Ashu.
''It is only the Congress that is seeking votes in the name of development,'' he maintained.
Adding to it, Mr Yadav said the victory of the party in Maharashtra, Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh has created excitement among the Congressmen in UP.
''The people of the state were looking for a change as they have experienced mis-management under the regime of the SP, the BSP and the BJP,'' the former UP CM added.
Criticising the state government, he said law and order situation was deteriorating in the state.
''Dalits are being harassed everyday, but government has turned a deaf ear to them. They are being used for vote bank politics,'' alleged Mr Yadav.
