7 Dera followers killed in road mishap
Sirsa, Nov 4 : Seven followers of Dera Sacha Sauda were killed and 40 others injured when a tractor trolley carrying them collided with a canter near Odhan village in this district late last night.
Police today said the deceased, who belonged to Samagh village of Muktsar district of Punjab, included two women and two children. Eight of the 40 injured were reported to be serious.
The Dera followers were coming back to their village after attending the annual satsang at the Dera headquarters here when the accident occurred.
Eyewitnesses said after the head-on collision with the tractor trolley, the canter went out of control and seven Dera followers were crushed under it. While a woman died on the spot, six others were declared brought dead in hospital.
The 40 injured had been admitted to various hospitals in Odhan and Sirsa.
