MERC organises interactive meet for power consumers
Nashik, Nov 4 : The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) had organised an interactive meet to hear the views and reactions of the power consuemrs.
The hearing was held at the Engineering Association Hall yesterday, regarding the proposal of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSCDCL) to supply uninterrapted electricity in the Nashik Division on payment of an additional surcharge.
The consumers coming from the domestic and industrial sectors and consumers activists gave mixed reactions.
The members of the Engineers Association, office bearers of Nashik Industrial Manufacturing Association (NIMA), Ambad Inustrial Manufacturing Association (AIMA) Institute of Engineering Association, Nashik District consumer forum, Grapes Porduction Association, MERC president V R Raja, organisor Prabhakar Patil, members Subhash Kulkarni and others were present on the occasion and expressed their views.
The MSEDCL has classified the consumers into classes and has proposed to lessen the subsidies based on it, the MERC has formed a committee of advisors under sub section the electricity ordinance.
