Ghandy moves HC against narco-test

New Delhi, Nov 4 : Maoist leader Kobad Ghandy today moved Delhi High Court to quash a trial court's order allowing narco-analysis test on him.

Earlier, on October 31, a trial court allowed the Delhi police to conduct narco test on 59-year-old Ghandy.

The investigating agency had submitted before the trial court that use of all scientific methods of interrogation has not been of much use. It also pleaded the court to allow narco test.

Persuing the medical report submitted by the AIIMS, the trial court had passed the order describing Ghandy medically fit to undergo the test.

The court ignored Ghandy counsel Rebecca John’s plea that such tests could not be conducted on a person against his wishes.

Ghandy was arrested from the national capital in September.
