UP IAS officer's book creating ripples in literary circles
Lucknow, Nov 4 : Yet another officer joined the bandwagon of bureaucrats turning to writing, an IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre Ministi S has come out with a book which is creating ripples in the literary circles.
The book named ' Anklets at Sunset' which has hit the book stores only last month has evinced interest among the knowledgeable people all round.
Ministi S, a 2003 batch IAS officer hailing from Thiruvanantpuram in Kerala, is already a prolific writer as this being her fifth book in the market.
Earlier, Ministi has written 'Unequal Equations'(2003) , a collection of 20 short stories and three books dedicated to kids-Fifty Points for Kids', 'Learning with Tippy Trotters'and '25 Pearls for Children' (all in 2007).
Her latest book, an 140-page novel described by her as a 'social satire' from the perspective of an octagenerian and speech impaired male who accidentally sees a murder in park. ''With elements of a thriller woven into the storyline of novel, I dedicate the book to elders of the society,'' she told UNI in a conversation.
The simple story telling also manages to showcase the cultures of South India and North India in an amalgated form as the main protogonist hails from Kerala and settled in northern part of the country. Being unable to speak, how he conveys his expereince and observations to civil society and its outcome presents an interesting reading.
Considered to be an upright and straight-forward officer, Ministi was posted as District Magistrate(DM) of Mainpuri, where Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav was elected to Lok Sabha in the last general elections.
