Police on alert against intrusion of LTTE cadre
Kakinada, Nov 3 : The Intelligence Bureau has alerted the police in the Maoists infested districts on the possible intrusion of LTTE cadre and likelihood of violence in the wake of the two-day bandh call by naxals, in protest against the 'green hunt' planned by the police.
Police sources told UNI here today that the IB had definite information that a group of 12 LTTE cadre from Kaula Lumpur, who are experts in the preparation and planting of explosives of all types, had landed in Visakhapatnam a few days back.
''Based on the passports, a clear identification was made and their movements are being closely watched. In the light of the reports that Maoists on Andhra-Orissa border area are receiving aid from LTTE, including training in Guerilla warfare and weapons, police has been alerted on their possible intrusion,'' the sources added.
Meanwhile, as a prelude to the two-day nationwide bandh called from tomorrow, the Maoists today paralysed the vehicular traffic between Rajavommangi in East Godavari and Koyyuru in Visakhapatnam districts by falling the trees across the road near Kakarapadu village.
The Indian Coast Guard has also been alerted on the possible marine intrusion of LTTE cadre and terrorists in the wake of reports that they may be emboldened to repeat the Mumbai type attacks, the sources said.
