Reddy denies Yeddy's claim that crisis is over
Bangalore, Nov 3 : The detractors of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today stuck to their stand of change in the leadership in the BJP government in Karnataka.
Revenue Minister G Karunakara Reddy, who is heading the rebel group, which is demanding the removal of the Chief Minister, said there was no change in their stand and vowed to ensure the change in the leadership.
Speaking to newspersons here Mr Reddy said there was no change in his group's stand about installing a new Chief Minister. However, he declined to name the alternate candidate and said the party's MLAs will elect their next leader.
Replying to a query he denied that the ''issue was closed'' and said the central leadership was still discussing it with his brother and tourism minister G Janardhana Reddy, who was camping in New Delhi to continue discussions with leaders.
''Nothing is finalised. Mr Yeddyurappa's claim that crisis is over is not true,'' he said.
''We have not placed any demand before the central leadership.
The only issue is change in leadership,'' he added.
Mr Reddy said the crisis in the BJP government was likely to continue for some more days until the central leadership took a final decision.
''Our commitment is to have a good leadership and there was no going back on it,'' he added.
