15 injured in CPM-Trinamool clash in Nanoor
Suri, Nov 3 : At least fifteen people were injured when clashes broke out between CPI(M) and Trinamool Congress cadres at Basapara under Nanoor police station in Birbhum district today.
Police rushed to the spot with reinforcement to bring the situation under control.
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress district president Anoopbrata Mandol alleged that the CPI(M) was resorting to violence as most of their members in Puchkaran and Thupsara panchayats had recently switched loyalities to his party.
However, CPI(M) district secretary Dilip Ganguly rubbished the claim.
Mr Mandol also accused the ruling party of bringing activists from Murshidabad and Nadia here last night to launch the attack.
Incidentally, violence between the two parties in Hooghly's Khanakul area yesterday had left ten people, including a policeman, injured.
