BJP hopeful of resolving Karnataka crisis
New Delhi, Nov 2 : The ongoing crisis in the ruling BJP in Karnataka today took a curious turn with the party leadership asserting that it would find a way out.
Talking to reporters after a three-hour long meeting with rebel leader and Karnataka Tourism Minister Janardhan Reddy, senior party leader Arun Jaitley said the party had heard the side of the rebels and loyalists of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa both in Bangalore and in Delhi in the last two days.
'Mr Reddy had given views of his side and we heard them with all seriousness,' Mr Jaitley said, while assuring that the party leadership would discuss and take a decision.
Party sources said senior leaders would meet at the residence of senior leader L K Advani to discuss the crisis in the Karnataka unit of the party.
While loyalists of Mr Yeddyurappa have claimed that the leadership had assured them that there would be no change of leadership, Mr Reddy expressed confidence that the party would provide a 'very good leadership' for Karnataka.
Earlier, Jaitley and BJP General Secretary Ananth Kumar met senior party leader L K Advani and sought his guidance to resolve the crisis.
In Bangalore, Mr Yeddyurappa said the leadership had asked him to stay put in the state capital and concentrate on flood relief works and general administration.
He said the party had asked him not to come to Delhi and assured that the party would find a solution to the crisis.
