Andhra Pradesh Govt committed to developing MSME: CM
Hyderabad, Nov 2 : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Konijeti Rosaiah today said his government was committed to developing Micro Small and Medium Entrepenuers (MSME) and establish industrial parks in various parts of the state.
Addressing Small Scale industrialists at the MSME day organised by the AP Industries and Commerce Department and Federation of AP Small Industries Association (FAPSIA), Mr Rosaiah said the state's industrial policy had placed major emphasis on MSME development providing various benefits and concessions, and the new industrial policy of the state for 2010-15 would have greater emphasis on MSMEs.
He said exclusive MSME industrial parks were being established in Visakhapatnam, Medak, Mahbubnagar and Chittoor districts and same will be replicated in other districts of the state.
"The Micro and Small Enterprises are recognised as growth engines for economic develoment and credited with generating the highest rates of employement growth and contribute major share of exports and industrial production," he said.
To ensure transparency and efficiency of delivery of services, the government has introduced online registration of entreprenuers, single window application and incentives payment, he said.
He urged the industrial associations, banks, APSFC, technical and management institutions and all the entreprenuers to become partners in making the state as MSME power house.
Later, Mr Rosaiah felicitataed the national and state level MSME and bank manager awardees. He congratulated the entrepreneurs who won the 'pearl of AP Award'.
State Minister for Small Scale Industries D K Aruna said MSME had a significance presence in the total industry sector and in the country there were 1.3 crore MSME covering both registered and un-registered units and creating employment to about 4.10 crore people.
Ms Aruna said that the state government has been implementing industrial investment promotion policy (IIPP) in which special incentives have been announced for MSME such as concessional power tariff, reimbursement of 25 per cent of VAT paid, rebate on land cost, 100 per cent reimbursement of stamp duty.
The state government is also implementing a special policy for SC and ST entreprenurs with maximum benefit of 40 per cent capital investment upto a maximum of Rs 50 lakh, reimbursement of 50 per cent VAT paid.
The state government also working to provide quality infrastructure, promotion of MSME sector.
FAPSIA President A Vijay Kumar urged the Chief Minister to allocate funds for 2008-09 and 2009-2010 towards incentive under industrial investment promotion policy (IIPP) of 2005-2010 of the state government.
Mr Kumar also urged the Chief Minister to earmark at least 15-20 per cent land to MSME sector wherever the land was alloted to mega Projects and also urged for housing to industrial workers under rajiv gruhakalpa or under Indiramma Housing Scheme.
