Danish pair dominate Volvo India International Regatta
Chennai, Nov 2 : Denmark's Kirketarp Kristian and Sletten Mathias dominated the opening day when they led in all the three races of the 29er class in the Volvo India International Regatta at the Chennai Port, here today.
The Danes shrugged off a slow start and broke free from the bunch in the last race to finish ahead of the two Indian combinations of Aman Vyas and Sachin Singha and Hussain Bhavnagarwala and Nishanth Chandrasekar.
In the Optimist class, the Indian sailors were in the forefront with local challenger, Ganapathy KC in the lead with five penalty points followed by Sankalp Kapur (11) and Rufus Patrick (14).
