DCC Chief offers to quit if the CPI(M) proves charges
Kannur, Nov 2 : Kannur District Congress Committee(DCC) President P Ramakrishnan today offered to quit the post, if the Communist Party of India(Marxist)CPI(M) proved that bogus voters were enrolled in the address of the DCC office.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Ramakrishnan, while reacting to reports in the CPI(M) mouthpeice, which reported that four bogus voters were enrolled in the address of the Congress office, challenged the CPI(M) District Secretary P Sasi and Left Democratic Front(LDF) candidate M V Jayarajan to either prove the charges or quit from the post.
Referring to 310 complaints filed against CPI(M) workers by the Congress for entering into the voters list with the help of fake residential addresses, Mr Radhakrishnan said they approached the election authorities in this regard with clear evidence.
On the other hand, the CPI(M) was making baseless allegations against the Congress in a desperate attempt to counter it, he added.
