Second girl alleges Marlon King of harassing her for 20 minutes in a nightclub
London, Nov 2 : A day after the 20-year-old victim of Premier League player Marlon King bravely revealed her identity, and disclosed how she was taunted and punched in the face, a second girl has come ahead and alleged that she was also taunted in a nightclub by King.
A source close to the girl has alleged that the former Wigan Athletic striker King had harassed her for 20 minutes and repeatedly pushed her head. King is also said to have waved a flash watch in her face and sneered: “I could buy you if I wanted” at a club in London’s Soho in 2007, The Sun reported.
The girl didn’t contact authorities after the incident, as she wanted to put the experience behind her. But after hearing about King’s trial for groping 20-year-old student, Emily Carr, and punching her in the face, she did.
“When she read about Emily’s case, the similarities - especially the arrogance and persistence - were too alarming to ignore,” the source said.
Earlier, recalling her ordeal, Carr said: “It was disgusting, a violation. It wasn’t just a little pinch, it was a squeeze done in a sexual way. I was really offended. I swung round to see King there smirking, looking me up and down and leering. He was tall, in a tight-fitting top and seemed quite muscular. But he was acting like a dirty pervert. I looked him in the eye and slowly told him, ‘Don’t do that! Don’t touch me.”
“King then bragged, “I’m a multi millionaire, love” - loud enough above the music for people to hear. That’s when my friend Ryan came to my aid and told him firmly, but politely, “Come on mate, leave it. She’s not interested.” But King wouldn’t stop. He started pushing my head, poking and prodding me in the temple. Ryan again asked him not to touch me but King goaded him more by pulling my hair,” she added.
The 20-year-old then gave away the moment when she was punched, and said: “There was no warning. I was knocked off my feet. I never saw his hand, it came completely out of the blue. There was no warning. I was knocked off my feet.”
King has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after being convicted of sexual assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
