Kerala High Court judge resigns citing personal reasons
Kochi, Nov 2 : A judge of the Kerala High Court has submitted his resignation, in what is believed to be the first such instance in the state.
Speaking to reporters at his residence here, Justice V. Giri said this decision was purely personal and had got nothing to do with the judiciary.
"This has not happened due to any displeasure. Like everyone has their likes and dislikes, this decision was taken after consulting with my family and my father. I wish to continue my practice and will do it in the Supreme Court," said Giri.
Giri had become a high court judge in August 2007. His father and wife are practising lawyers here. He had met the high court Chief Justice S.R. Bannurmath Sunday evening and put in his papers. The decision on the resignation will be taken by President Pratibha Patil.
