Avatar has more to offer this weekend
For those eagerly waiting to see more of the biggest movie made in cinema, here's a fresh dekko at this year's most awaited film 'Avatar' from 20th Century Fox.
The promo that is a good long 3 minutes and 16 seconds, released worldwide on 30th October. It has opened here in multiplexes across the nation with the new releases of the weekend i.e Aladin and London Dreams. But in a never before seen strategy, Avatar's promo would be the first movie to open in a retail store simultaneously with the theatre release. Avatar Promos would screen at all of Vijay Sales outlets on the same day.
‘Avatar’ is James Cameron’s first directorial effort since TITANIC, which still holds the title for the highest grossing film of all time. It was first conceived by Cameron 14 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not yet exist and now made at the biggest budget ever, it has been shot using one of a kind proprietary FUSION digital 3-D camera developed by Cameron himself. Now, after four years of actual production work, Avatar delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film, disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story.
The Star Cast of the film includes Sam Worthington (Terminator Salvation, Hart’s War, Rogue), Sigourney Weaver (Aliens), Zoe Saldana (The Terminal).
And it is the story of a wounded ex-marine, thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, who eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival.
“For me, as a lifelong fan of science fiction and action, 'Avatar' is a dream project. We're creating an entire world, a complete ecosystem of phantasmagorical plants and creatures, and a native people with a rich culture and language. The story is both epic and emotional.” -James Cameron.
The film releases worldwide on Dec 18. In India, the film will also be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
