Badal extends greetings on 'guruparv' of Guru Nanak
Chandigarh, Nov 1 : On the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal extended his warm greetings to all the Punjabis living in country and abroad.
In his message on the eve of 'Guruparv', Mr Badal said Guru Nanak was a great spiritual master who had showed the path of salvation to mankind by spreading message of love and oneness of God. The Guru envisioned a casteless society, free of rituals in order to attain a higher spiritual level.
His mission was to redeem the suffering humanity that had lost all hopes due to the oppression of foreign invaders, injustice of contemporary rulers and so called custodians of religious and social traditions.
He said the teachings of Guru Nanak are still relevant today in the present context and materialistic society.
The Chief Minister called upon the people to imbibe the spirit of love and brotherhood in society as preached by the Guru to usher in an era of peace and prosperity on this Earth.
Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Education Minister Upinderjit Kaur also extended their greetings on the occasion.
