Rashid 18th and Jha 34th at Asian Amateur golf
Shenzen (China), Nov 1 : Rashid Khan faltered in the final round with a two-over 74 that saw him drop from tenth to tied 18th at the end of the inaugural Asian Amateur Championships at Mission Hills Sunday.
Rashid, who was tied fifth after the second round dropped to tenth after third. He had three bogeys and just one birdie in the final round.
"I missed a lot of birdies and the rhythm was not there," said Rashid, winner of the Faldo Series two times.
Koreans took the first three places, with joint overnight leader Han Chang-won (66-69-71-70). He was 12-under and pulled away from fellow Korean Eric Chun (74-68-66-73) at seven-under.
The third place was shared by Korean Kim Meen-Whee and Australians Jordan Sherrat and Peter Spearman-Burn at six-under 282.
Abhishek Jha with a par 72 moved six places from 40th to 34th.
The inaugural tournament offers an invitation to the 2010 Masters Tournament as a reward for the champion, with both the winner and the runner(s)-up earning places in International Final Qualifying for The Open Championship being played next year at St Andrews.
