Governor N D Tiwari greeted the people of Andhra Pradesh formation day

Hyderabad, Oct 31 : Andhra Pradesh Governor N D Tiwari today greeted the people on the eve of the 53rd Anniversary of the formation of the state.

In a message, he said the statehood of AP had fulfilled the cherished dreams of all those wanting to see unified Telugu people under one mantle.

''On this happy and solemn occasion, I pay my tributes to all those savants and patriots who fought relentlessly and with fervour and made enormous sacrifices to attain the cherished objective of a statebood for all the Telugu speaking people in various domains.

''The state of AP, the first linguistic state in the Union is a culmination of a long odyssey giving the Telugu language and to its people a distinctive identity. The accomplishments of our own brethren in nation building ever since in various spheres fill us with pride.'' ''Since 1956, successive governments have been striving hard to promote all round rapid development of the state. While we have made considerable progress and are at the forefront among the states in several spheres of development, much more needs to be done to fulfil the legitimate aspirations. I take this opportunity to urge all sections of the society to join hands together to build a secure and prosperous future.
