Naveen demands second sainik school in Orissa
Bhubaneswar,Oct 30 : Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today proposed to Minister of State for Defence M M Palamraju to set up the second Sainik school in Bargarh in Western Orissa.
Mr Palamraju who was here to attend the 39th All India Sainik Schools Principal conference yesterday, met Mr Patnaik at Naveen Nivas today and discussed the various welfare measures taken by the state government for setting up the Sainik school in the city.
During the discussion, the Chief Minister apprised Mr Palamraju of the state government's decision to have another sainik school in Baragarh.
The Union Minister, sources said, assured the Chief Minister to take necessary steps in this regard.
Mr Patnaik drew the attention of Mr Palamraju about recruitment of more number of tribals in the defence force.
The Union Minister sought the assistance of the state government for development of the infrastructure of the Sainik school and thanked the Chief Minister for relaxing the norm while enhancing the stipend fees for the students reading in the Sainik school.
