6,000 people to return to Hinduism in Thane
Thane, Oct 25 : As many as 6,000 people from remote parts of the district will return to the fold of Hinduism under the supervision of Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Shree Swami Narendracharya Maharaj at a religious programme here tomorrow.
The spokesman of Swami Narendra Maharaj group, which is organising the event, told newspersons today that more than half a dozen Pandits, including revered Gurus, from Ayodhya will perform the ''purification'' rituals for the these people, who had earlier converted to other religions from Hinduism.
''Initially, they will be tonsured and given the fresh 'Vastram'.
The affidavits will be made and later registered to complete the formalities,'' he said.
''So far, 94,000 people have returned back to the faith on their own with the help of the organisation, and we aim to assist around one lakh people,'' he added.
