Ludhiana: Youth throws acid on bride

Ludhiana, Dec 7 : A 25-year-old youth threw acid on a 22-year-old girl on her wedding day as she was coming out of a beauty parlour after make up in Punjab's Ludhiana on Saturday, police said.

A senior police official said the attacker is an unidentified youth who threw the acid on the girl and escaped.

A hunt has been launched to track down the culprit.

The injured girl is undergoing treatment at DMC Hospital, said reports.

After a spate of acid attacks, the Supreme Court in July passed an order to regulate sale of acid from market.

Only this month the apex court also asked the state governments to come up with rules for selling of acid in open market.
