Kim K receives flak for donating only 10 percent of 'charity auction' to typhoon victims

Washington, December 6 : Kim Kardashian has been criticised for her latest eBay 'Giving Works' auction, in which a "percentage of the proceeds" is promised to be donated to the victims of the Philippines typhoon disaster, while only a meagre 10 percent is being donated.

The 33-year-old American television personality had written on her auction page that the proceeds will go directly to the communities serving in the Philippines and will help typhoon survivors get access to medical care and ultimately save lives, but only a slim percentage of the proceeds are being donated to the International Medical Corps relief efforts, Fox News reported.

Crisis communications expert Glenn Selig said that when something is for charity, bidders assume that the majority goes to the stated cause and added that misleading people with the vague announcement was wrong.
