Goa CM inaugurates workshop in IIM Kozhikode

Kozhikode, Dec 6 : Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday inaugurated a day-long workshop on 'Leadership Clinic' here which was conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK).


Parrikar underlined the relevance of Leadership Clinic for the state of Goa, country and world at large.

Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIMK designed and steered the workshop addressing managers from corporate world who are recognized as high-potential by their organizations and have significant strategic responsibility and a global orientation.

The workshop was attended by around 50 managers and professionals coming from prestigious corporate houses and organizations.

The objective of the workshop was to enlighten the potential leaders with the leadership lessons which could empower them to be a corporate leader going forward.

Chatterjee endowed the participants with a powerful and proven set of tools and instructed in their use.

He said that if an individual practices using these tools then he can become proficient enough and shall find that the transformation has already occurred.

"We have for long imported knowledge from the West, it is time to bring Indian thought to the center stage of global management practice," he said.

While addressing the participants, Chatterjee said, "Leadership is designed with the objective of providing insights into managerial concepts and techniques relevant for formulating and implementing strategies in various functional areas".

"Leadership is embedded in each one's DNA, it is the method of going beyond one's conventional thinking to open the mind for generating breakthrough ideas and identify actionable strategies to significantly improve one's leadership DNA," he said.
