"We had submitted deputation to the West Bengal governor and like previous incidents the governor said that he would look into the matter, but after six months nothing happened. So, we have taken this decision to go to Kamduni village and support the villagers who have taken part in the movement," said Ramala Chakraborty, West Bengal wing leader of All India Women's Democratic Association, the women's body of Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) .
"On the 7th day of every month, Kamduni Protibadi Mancha arranges an event to recall the incident and to demand proper justice by the government. Coming Saturday (Dec 7) the left front women organization will join in the event at Kamduni," said Chakraborty.
On Jun 7, 2013, a 20-year-old college student was abducted, gang-raped and murdered in Kamduni near Barasat, about 20 km from Kolkata.
