Pak pacer Riaz booked for excessive wedding celebrations

Johannesburg, Dec. 05 : Pakistan pacer Wahab Riaz has been booked by Punjab Police for breaching local laws that ban excessive wedding celebrations.

The 28-year-old left-arm pacer has been accused of violating the rule that bans marriage ceremonies beyond 10 p.m. in the night and more than one dish at meals, Sport24 reports.

Lahore district magistrate office representatives raided Riaz's house late last night and found that five dishes were served in meals.

His father said that he has been granted bail from the additional session judge until December 9, after which they will file a defamation case against those who raided their home.

An FIR has been lodged against Riaz for violating the laws and he could be fined between 1,00,000 and 1,50,000 rupees, if proven guilty, the report added.
