Soon, 'smaller, reversible' USB plugs to make life easier!

Washington, Dec. 5 : A new USB plug has been rolled out that is not only smaller and with a new design, but puts to rest the most annoying part: not knowing which way is up, as it is reversible.

The Type-C connector, announced by the USB 3.0 Promoter Group, features an entirely new design and size, and is due for public debut soon after the specifications are finalized in the middle of 2014.

According to Fox News, the new connectors won't work with existing USB plugs but will work with each other.

Vice President of Intel's Platform Engineering Group, Alex Peleg said that the new industry standards-based thin connector, delivering data, power and video, is the only connector one will need across all devices, the report added.
