Mild earthquake hits West Bengal

Kolkata, Dec 4 : A mild earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter Scale hit West Bengal-Bihar border region on Wednesday evening with its tremors being felt in north Bengal, officials said.


The epicentre of the earthquake was 20km below ground along the Bengal-Bihar border at 26.5 degree north and 88.2 degree west, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

However no casualty or damage to property has been reported so far.
