TRS chief rejects Rayala Telangana proposal, calls for shutdown tomorrow

Hyderabad, Dec.4 : Expressing displeasure over the Centre's reported proposal of Rayala Telangana, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao has called for a shutdown tomorrow opposing this merger.

He further asserted that people of Telangana would never accept a move to merge Telangana and some districts from the Rayalseema region.

Rao also said that TRS would protest if the Centre approves the proposed Rayala Telangana.

According to sources, there is a proposal to include two districts of Ralayaseema namely Kurnool and Anantapur into Telanaga, which originally has ten districts.

The Group of Ministers (GoM), which is headed by Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, had met yesterday but there was an inconclusive discussion on Telangana.

The Ministerial panel is likely to take a decision today.
