EC notice to Jayalalithaa for violating model code of conduct

New Delhi, Dec.2 : The Election Commission has issued a notice to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa for violating model code of conduct, and has asked her to reply by tomorrow evening.

The EC has sought a clarification from the AIADMK supremo on a complaint by the DMK of alleged violation of poll code during the Yercaud bye-election campaign.

She has reportedly been issued a notice making false poll promises during her recent campaign in connection with the Yercaud by-polls due on December 4.
