Mary J Blige says was nervous during World Series performance

Washington, Nov 30 : Mary J Blige has revealed that she was nervous when she sang the National Anthem at the World Series.

When asked by TV show host Chelsea Handler how she calmed herself down before appearing on one of sports' biggest stages, which saw the Boston Red Sox take on the St Louis Cardinals, the 42-year-old admitted "it's difficult, if not impossible", E! News reported.

The 42-year-old singer said that before she goes onstage she prays first, gets the courage and then goes out there to do what she is supposed to do.

Talking on comedy talk show 'Chelsea Lately', the 'Share My World' hitmaker claimed that people don't care about her being afraid, but she gets nervous, sometimes to the extent that she is consistently nervous through the whole thing.

She added that while she is doing it, she is shaking the whole time because she wants to get it right.
