Kolkata hosts music carnival

Kolkata, Nov 24 : : Percussionist Bickram Ghosh, table exponent Subhen Chatterjee along with rock singers like Rupam Islam and other musicians jammed up the inauguration of the two-day Siddha Live Music Carnival in south Kolkata's Deshapriya Park on Saturday.


Debasish Kumar, MMIC, Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) and Sanjay Jain, MD of real estate firm Siddha Group were also present at the opening of the carnival which continued for two days.

"This musical carnival is to explore music in different forms in society. We are trying to promote music in every genre," said Bickram Ghosh.

This music carnival is also encouraging new talents to showcase themselves.

"It is an integrated movement to music. Music can play a powerful role in the change of society," said Ghosh.

Lakkhichhara, Suspended Fifth, Calcutta Blues, Chronic Xorn, Sudipta Gain, Ashman, Eeshaan, Deenga and Rahul Guha Roy performed in the carnival.
