Akash Aath launches remake of Janani

Kolkata, Nov 15 : Bengali television channel Akash Bangla, which has been re-launched as Akash Aath from Oct 14, officially launched the remake of mega-serial 'Janani' here on Thursday.

The initial launching of the serial witnessed the presence of some leading television stars along with the producer and director of 'Janani'.

The star cast comprises of Mrinal Mukherjee in the role of the father; Shanker Chakraborty and Nandini Chatterjee (first son and his wife); Kushal Chakraborty and Reshmi Sen (second son and his wife); Kaushik Sen and Sanjukta (third son and his wife); Sourav and Moumita (fourth son and his wife) and Anindita and Rahul Chakraborty (daughter and her husband) apart from Anuradha Roy in the role of their mother.

'Janani' reflects the dirty truths of modern society, the degrading human values that have resulted in separation and seclusion.

Director of the mega-serial Sushanta Bose said, "It is indeed a challenge to remake Janani. But hard work has been honest and will continue to be."

Ashok Surana, proprietor of television channel Channel Eight and producer of 'Janani' said, "Janani was favourite among all and the remake needs to be accepted by all. It is entirely a fresh and new story synchronizing with the societal issues of modern times."

Actor Shankar Chakraborty said, "Janani- a milestone in mega serial" and Kushal Chakraborty added, "Janani is nostalgia indeed."
