Punjab bans transfers, postings of staff

Chandigarh, Nov 12 : The Punjab government Tuesday announced a ban on transfers and postings of officers and staffs in all its departments, a spokesman said here.


The spokesman said that any transfer or posting now would be done only with the prior permission of the chief minister.

"Written instructions regarding this have been sent to the heads of all the departments, divisional commissioners and sub-divisional magistrates (civil), and chairmen and managing directors of all the corporations and boards," he added.
