McConaughey supports shamed pal Armstrong despite being duped

London, Mar 23 : American actor Matthew McConaughey has insisted his close friend Lance Armstrong, who had confessed of being a drug cheat in January after years of denials, is not liar despite being duped by his pal.

In spite of Armstrong's admission, The Wedding Planner star claimed his friend has nothing to be ashamed of, the Sun reports.

McConaughey said Armstrong is not a liar and when it came out he took it personally but then he realised it isn't personal to him, adding what was the American cyclist supposed to do, call him and revealing his ill-deeds?

McConaughey added he happy for Armstrong now, because despite all this outside conflict, he doesn't have this inner conflict anymore.

The pair was frequently spotted out jogging together in the Hollywood Hills, but McConaughey said a hectic schedule and commitment to his family makes hanging out with his friends tricky to fit in.
