Nawaz Sharif to appoint new Pak army chief on Nov. 28

Islamabad, Nov. 09 : Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will make a decision regarding the appointment of new army chief on November 28, an official confirmed.

Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rasheed said that the appointment of new Chief of Army Staff (COAS) was the prerogative of the prime minister, the Nation reports.

However, the minister denied making any speculations on new COAS, saying that it was an important post and disclosing anything about it was not in the national interest.
